Selling abroad? **Stripe** takes cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and local methods in 135+ currencies on a page Stripe hosts; **PayPal** takes PayPal balances and cards in 25 currencies. Both refund from your admin. Pair them with [currencies](https://www.nijeesweb.com/docs/ecommerce/payments/currencies) so overseas customers see prices in their own money.

## Stripe

### Get your keys

In the Stripe Dashboard, go to **Developers → API keys**:

- **Secret key** — starts with `sk_test_` in test mode, `sk_live_` when live. Required.
- **Publishable key** — starts with `pk_`. Not needed for Stripe's hosted checkout, but handy to record.

### Add Stripe to your store

1. Go to **Payments → Add gateway → Stripe**. Its settings open.
2. Set **Environment**, paste the **Secret key** (and publishable key if you like), and **Save changes**.

### Add the webhook

1. **Copy** the **Webhook / callback URL** from the Stripe method.
2. In Stripe, go to **Developers → Webhooks → Add endpoint**, paste the URL and subscribe to **checkout.session.completed** and **checkout.session.async_payment_failed**.
3. Copy the endpoint's **signing secret** (starts with `whsec_`) into **Webhook signing secret** and **Save changes**.

## PayPal

### Get your credentials

In the PayPal **Developer dashboard → Apps & Credentials**, create an app. Use the **Sandbox** app while testing and the **Live** app when you go live. Copy its **Client ID** and **Secret**.

### Add PayPal to your store

1. Go to **Payments → Add gateway → PayPal**. Its settings open.
2. Set **Environment**, paste the **Client ID** and **Secret**, and **Save changes**.

### Add the webhook

1. **Copy** the **Webhook / callback URL** from the PayPal method.
2. In your PayPal app, add a webhook for that URL with the events **PAYMENT.CAPTURE.COMPLETED** and **PAYMENT.CAPTURE.DENIED**.
3. Copy the **Webhook ID** PayPal creates into your admin and **Save changes**. It is needed to verify PayPal's messages.

## Limit them to customers abroad

Under **Where this method is offered**, untick **INR** in **Currencies** (or choose **Countries**) so Indian customers see your Indian gateways and customers abroad see Stripe or PayPal.

## Test, then go live

Set each to **Admins only**, pay a test order with Stripe's test card or a PayPal sandbox buyer account, then switch to live keys and **Live**. See [Test before going live](https://www.nijeesweb.com/docs/ecommerce/payments/test-before-going-live).

> [!NOTE]
> Indian businesses need export-related approvals from Stripe and PayPal to receive international payments. Their onboarding asks for your business and bank details and your store's policy pages.
