**A record** — a DNS setting that points a domain to a server's address. You add two (for `@` and `www`) to connect your domain.

**Account (NijeesWeb account)** — your login at `www.nijeesweb.com/account`, for buying, renewing and upgrading websites. Separate from a website's admin login.

**Admin panel** — where you edit a website, at `yourdomain/admin`.

**Alt text** — a short description of a picture, read aloud by screen readers and used by search engines.

**Banner** — a large full-width picture or video; several in a set become a slider.

**Blurb** — an element with an icon or image, a title and short text.

**Breakpoint** — the screen width where the design switches between desktop, tablet and phone settings.

**Canonical address** — the one official address of a page, so search engines don't count copies separately.

**Column** — a vertical division of a row; rows hold one to six.

**DNS** — the internet's address book, which turns your domain into the server address your site lives on.

**Domain** — your website's address, such as `yourbusiness.in`.

**Element** — a building block in a column: heading, text, image, button, form and so on.

**Favicon** — the small icon in a browser tab.

**hreflang** — tags telling search engines which language version of a page suits which visitor.

**llms.txt** — a plain-language summary of your website for AI systems, generated automatically.

**Media library** — where all your uploaded images, videos and PDFs are stored.

**Meta title / meta description** — the title and short description search engines show for a page.

**Mega menu** — a wide menu panel with columns, pictures and buttons.

**Overlay** — a coloured layer over a background picture, used to make text readable.

**Parallax** — a background that moves more slowly than the page as you scroll, giving depth.

**Row** — a horizontal band across a page; rows stack top to bottom.

**Sitemap** — `sitemap.xml`, a list of all your pages for search engines, generated automatically.

**Slug** — the part of a page's address after the domain: in `yourdomain/about-us`, the slug is `about-us`.

**SSL / HTTPS** — encryption between your site and its visitors, shown as a padlock. Free and automatic on NijeesWeb.

**Structured data** — machine-readable facts about your business on each page, read by search engines and AI assistants.

**Theme** — your website's colours, fonts and shapes, set in *Design › Theme*.

**Website ID** — a short internal name for your website, chosen at set-up.

**Website theme** — a complete ready-made website design you can install.

**WebP** — a modern image format, smaller than JPG and PNG; your uploads are converted to it.

**x-default** — the language version shown to searchers whose language your site doesn't have.
