Google Analytics is Google's free tool for measuring your visitors.

## 1. Create a Google Analytics property

1. Go to [analytics.google.com](https://analytics.google.com) and sign in.
2. Create an account and a **property** for your website, then add a **Web** data stream with your website's address.
3. Open the stream and choose **View tag instructions** → **Install manually**. Google shows a code snippet that begins with `<!-- Google tag (gtag.js) -->` and contains two `<script>` parts.

## 2. Paste it into your website

1. In your admin panel, open **Settings › General Settings**.
2. Under **Maps, analytics & cookies**, paste the **whole snippet** — both `<script>` parts — into **Google Analytics Link**.
3. Save.

Open your website in another tab; within a minute, Google Analytics' **Realtime** report should show you as a visitor.

> [!IMPORTANT]
> Paste the complete snippet exactly as Google gives it, not just the `G-…` measurement ID — the box expects the code.

## With a cookie consent bar

If you switch on **Cookie consent** in the same section, the Analytics snippet is **not loaded at all until a visitor chooses "Accept all"** — so no tracking cookie is set before they agree. Visitors who choose *Necessary only* are not counted. See [Cookie consent](https://www.nijeesweb.com/docs/website/settings/cookie-consent).

## What to look at

- **Reports › Acquisition** — where visitors come from: Google, social media, direct.
- **Reports › Engagement › Pages and screens** — your most visited pages.
- **Key events** — set up a key event for your form's thank-you message to count enquiries.
