Product SEO

Help products rank on Google — titles, descriptions, clean web addresses and photos — what the store does for you, and how the meta fields behave today.

Updated 2 min read Markdown

Every product page is a page Google can show. A few minutes per product makes a real difference to whether people find it.

What the store does automatically#

  • A clean address from the title: Handloom Cotton Saree → yourdomain/products/handloom-cotton-saree. If two products share a title, the second gets -1 on the end.
  • Complete HTML. Product pages are sent fully rendered, so search engines and AI assistants read the name, price, description and photos without running scripts.
  • WebP photos that load quickly — page speed is part of how Google ranks.

Write for people first#

What Google reads on a product page is the page itself, so the most important SEO work is the product's own content:

  • Title — say what it is in the words customers use: Men's Linen Kurta beats Summer Collection Item 4.
  • Description — at least a few sentences: material, size and fit, care, what is in the box. Unique text, not the manufacturer's copy every other shop uses.
  • Photos — several, with the product clearly visible. Give gallery items a Title; it describes the picture.
  • Category — put each product in the categories people would look for it in. Category pages rank too.

The meta fields#

On the product form, Content → Meta Information has Meta Title, Meta Description and Meta Keywords. When the switch is on, all three are required.

After you add products#

Add a sitemap listing your product pages, and submit it in Google Search Console. See SEO and sharing.
